The 21st century is the century of advantages but also of great challenges, both in beekeeping and for other fields. If this period radically changed the way of life of man, especially the bee and the environment in which it lives. Just as modernization has entered our lives, so has the life of the bee.
One of the greatest achievements is and will remain the polystyrene hive, in all its configurations, in response to the increasingly radical changes in climatic conditions, the environment and the intention to industrialize the beekeeping branch. The polystyrene hive is the most suitable solution for all these serious problems faced by an amateur or a professional beekeeper. Choosing this type of hive would eradicate a number of problems such as: unexplained mortality of bee colonies, honey consumption in winter, winter and summer heat insulation, explosive developments in spring, swarming, colony productivity in the active season, etc.
Today beekeepers who 10 - 20 years ago were remarkably successful, at the moment their alnin maintenance technology is no longer profitable. As long as they do not strive, they are no longer successful and do not have an answer, over the years the experience gained on the contrary should result but this does not happen. Those who succeed are the new generation of beekeepers who adopt a new technology that includes polystyrene hives. They noticed the special advantages of this new material and gradually the given hive became more and more widespread. The key factor in this equation being the decision to bet on the new type of hive.
Over the years, man has continuously intervened in the life of the bee, adjusting it to his needs. Initially, the bee led an absolutely wild way of life, living and organizing its nest in the hollows of trees. Then man created artificial hollows in the trunks of trees by grabbing them closer to him and trying to tame them, then he invented wooden hives, then the frame. Today, this intervention did not end, on the contrary, it will continue. And in this series of changes, a special place belongs to the polystyrene hive, which is clearly superior to the wooden hive that no longer copes as it did 10-20 years ago.
Finally, I mention that the polystyrene hive is the future of modern beekeeping regardless of the beekeeper's experience and the number of families. The benefits it brings are already visible. Those who own such beehives are firmly convinced of their value and have certainly stated that the wooden hive is outdated, this will be made aware of the rest of the beekeepers by the decision that awaits them.
